Hedin Bil acquires a Ford dealership in Enköping
Hedin Mölndal Bil AB, subsidiary of I.A. Hedin Bil AB, is growing through the acquisition of another Ford facility.
Hedin Bil acquires BilGruppen in Enköping AB. The takeover will take place on July 1 and the operations within BilGruppen will be integrated with Hedin Bil's existing Ford operations.
Anderz Larqvist, CEO of Hedin Mölndal Bil AB, says: “We continue our determined investment in Ford in Sweden, and are proud to have the opportunity to continue running a great car dealer in Sweden. BilGruppen in Enköping gives us the opportunity to become an even stronger alternative for the Ford customer in Mälardalen. The facility complements existing facilities in Västerås and Eskilstuna. BilGruppen is a full-service dealership with sales of new and used Ford passenger cars as well as the European-leading transport vehicle program, service and workshop services, spare parts, accessories and tire hotels. Hedin Bil will, in addition to the already successful operations, be able to add Group-wide functions and services, which will further strengthen the range for Ford customers in the Enköping area. The goal is to continue to be a leading marketplace for cars and car-related services in the Mälardalen region.”
Conny Karlsson, owner and CEO of BilGruppen, says, “After many years with Ford and having run several businesses, the timing feels good to let this business move on in a new and larger constellation. A lot happens in the market in general and we see advantages in being part of a larger structure. Therefore, this step feels natural to us.”
The facility in Enköping covers 2,000 m2, and will be the fourteenth facility that markets Ford within Hedin Bil. About 10 people will be employed and it is estimated that about 600 vehicles will be sold annually.
The property acquired by Hedin Group also includes adjacent currently undeveloped land. The facility in Enköping is located at Gustav Daléns Gata 13.
